Republicans will field candidate in HD 3 for McCoy’s seat
May 25, 2011
William Tracy Arnold has qualified with the Mississippi Republican Party to run in House District 3, the seat held by now outgoing Speaker Billy McCoy. Arnold was the 2007 GOP nominee in this district.
Sources tell us that other area conservatives are considering throwing their name in the hat as well, especially now that McCoy is retiring.
As for the liberal side of the equation, Democrat Bobby Wren has qualified and we may see another ‘D’ step out soon.
HD 3 can be described as a yellow dog district, but word is many are reexamining their allegiances. A conservative win here would be huge for all Mississippi conservatives.
